My first book. Story about pain, power of love and kindness. Attempt to find an answer on a question where is the border between what is normal and what is not. Greta is a successful woman. She works hard, not getting involved in serious relationships. She seems to have control over her life. So what causes that she doesn't or does not want to remember life she lived before?
Ten stories. Ten characters. We see them meeting at the shop and on the street. They don´t know each other but we know their stories. Stories that show us life of so called "ordinary people", with ordinary problems. But are we really ordinary? Heart-warming book with interesting characters. I created it`s form like a movie where characters apparently not knowing each other interact and make impact on each other´s life. Ten stories making entirety.
Old classics in a modern version. And for adults. Many Polish writers in one exciting project. Was honoured to write one of the stories.
Don´t ask about Poland. What is patriotism? What does it mean to belong to one particular country. Dilemmas of modern human being, citizen of the world. I wrote one of the stories in a great companionship of talented, Polish writers.
Whale`s Hunters. Probably my favourite book so far. Poetical story about love and life. Three generations of women. Challenges of life, dreams, expectations, choices, victory and defeat. And everything in a place that it is hard to say whether it exists. Michal Ostrowski my friend, journalist and reenactor told me that it reminds him of "Shipping News" of Annie Proulx. I am not sure I deserve such a compliment, but as long as this book has just a bit of that atmosphere I am truly satisfied.
Book written for children exposed to domestic violence. I wrote this book when I worked in Center for victims of domestic violence in Bergen, Norway. Idea of a little bat appeared suddenly after a talk I had with a 9 years old boy. He told me that he said once to his father: "Stop to shout at me so loud! Can´t you see that my ears are much smaller than yours". His words made a huge impression on me and in that moment I remind myself Flora, one of main characters I created in "Wale Hunters". Her father was an alcoholic and as a child she dreamed about being able to transform into a bat and to find her father by means of echo-location. That´s how Gacek, a little bat was born.
Gacek was used as a tool to work with children in crises centres in Norway but also in Kindergartens, schools and different institutions.
